How to match chassis parts by OE number and vehicle fitment

Bring the reference number, vehicle details and installation position into the same sourcing request.

01. Start with the complete reference

Record the OE number exactly as it appears in the source documentation or on the existing part. Letters and suffixes may distinguish different applications. Keep both the original number and any supplier cross-reference in your sourcing list.

02. Add the vehicle information

A reference becomes more useful when it is accompanied by make, model, production year and engine or powertrain details. Include the VIN where available and confirm the market specification with the supplier.

03. Confirm the installation position

State the axle, side and mounting location. Front and rear, left and right, and upper and lower parts may look similar while serving different applications.

04. Send a complete verification request

Submit the OE list, vehicle details, quantities and clear photographs together. Ask the supplier to review the reference before confirming the order. A photograph alone is not proof of compatibility.
